Empire Review Wanna Monkey around? - 3.5 out of 5  (2/18/2002) I suspect that PLAY-MATE OF THE APES was quite a labor of love for the folks at Seduction Cinema. This isn't to say that their other products are paid less attention to, but they do seem to more in the manner of Smut and more Smut and that is what makes them the best of the new crop of exploitation flicks. But PLAY-MATE OF THE APES is much more clever than the usual flick.
